Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is considered a modern-day form of classical Indian Yoga. A system of sequencing  poses like building blocks based on the tradition of Ashtanga poses with the flow of Vinyasa. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive set series of postures, using breath and energetic locks (Bandhas) to produce intense internal heat, and a focused gaze, (Dristi ) to sustain effort - all to strengthen the body and get it healthy as a step to controlling the mind.
